1. Data controller

The personal data controller is Benjamin, individual entrepreneur, operating the Squad4Me platform at squad4me.net. Contact: contact@squad4me.org

2. Data collected

We collect the following data:

• Account data: email address, username, password (hashed)
• Profile data: bio, games, rank, play style, availability, languages, platforms, social media tags (Discord, Twitch, Twitter), profile picture and banner
• Usage data: swipes, matches, text messages, voice messages, reviews
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, login timestamps

3. Processing purposes

• Providing the gaming matchmaking service
• Managing your account and authentication
• Communication between users (messaging, notifications)
• Experience personalization (compatible profile suggestions)
• Platform moderation and security
• Anonymized usage statistics

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

• Contract performance: processing necessary to provide the service (account, matchmaking, chat)
• Consent: optional profile data, marketing communications
• Legitimate interest: platform security, abuse prevention, statistics
• Legal obligation: retention of login data in accordance with French law

5. Data retention

• Account data: kept as long as the account is active, deleted within 30 days after account deletion
• Messages: kept for 12 months after the last exchange in the conversation
• Login data (IP, logs): 12 months in accordance with French law
• Moderation data (reports, sanctions): 3 years

In accordance with GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Right of access: obtain a copy of your personal data
• Right to rectification: correct inaccurate data

7. Cookies

Squad4Me uses cookies strictly necessary for the service to function (authentication, session preferences). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. Session cookies are deleted when the browser is closed.

8. Hosting and transfers

Platform data is stored on infrastructure located in the European Union (AWS Europe region, Ireland), via our provider Supabase. The application is served by Vercel, and some technical functions (notably rate limiting) rely on Upstash. These providers are companies established in the United States: therefore, some technical processing may involve a transfer of data outside the European Union. These transfers are governed by the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission.

9. Minors

Registration on Squad4Me is reserved for persons aged 15 or older, in accordance with the age of digital consent in France. If we learn that an account has been created by a person under 15, that account will be deleted.
